i-World - Last Legion Games
Game Pitch and Prototype

i-World is a conceptual virtual world that allows players to connect and help each other build their very own digital universe. This is a simplified iteration of a high-concept that has been on my mind for many years. MMO's have always interested me from a creative and social standpoint - How can we allow players to build and create a world in meaningful ways, as oppose to fight or compete against each other? To be constructive through collaboration and play.

I wanted to keep i-World very clean looking and minimalist - almost as an interactive poetic experience. Players would enter a dream-like digital painting and explore it at their own leisure. The avatar has an unfinished look on purpose since the players would develop their character over time. I built a stylized 3D environment as a prototype and put together a few mock-ups.

Salty Boogey and Mini Parkour - Last Legion Games
Game Pitch and Prototypes

Salty Boogey was a fun iPhone prototype that we quickly put together in the summer of 2008. It was a simple touch screen dance game with dynamic 3D lighting and many colorful levels to play through, and some very groovy music of course. In Mini-Parkour, players used the environment of the city landscape to climb, run, and jump in order to escape enemies and various obstacles.

Light & Dark - Last Legion Games
Game Pitch

As the Last Legion team was pitching ideas on what game to make after Watchmen, one of my colleagues came up with the neat concept of using light and darkness as game mechanics. I developed the concept a bit further with the idea of a little girl holding a balloon that would provide her light, lost in a maze-like environment infested with creatures of darkness chasing her while she's trying to find her way out. I can't stress enough how much I would have loved to make this game.

Avatar Concepts - AltEgo/Last Legion Games
Concept Art

In the fall of 2009, Last Legion Games started to stir away from full time game development to transition into a cloud-based technology company, which would eventually become AltEgo. I had to come up with a look for our soon-to-be avatar system, and I tried to differentiate the little guys from the other generic looks that were on the already crowded market. My main inspiration was the awesome Little Big Planet game, and the vinyl figures from our recently launched Polyghost iPhone app. So I put together these iterations of toys-like characters that, in my opinion, would have been a lot of fun to customize and interact with.
